With the ambition to be energy neutral by 2030, Eindhoven Airport NV – partly thanks to support from the region – is fully focusing on sustainability. With a subsidy from the Eindhoven Metropolitan Area, Eindhoven University of Technology, Brainport Development, and Eindhoven Airport NV have gained insight into what is needed to make the company energy-neutral or even energy positive.

Part of this is an energy choice model, built by TIBO EnergyHub software. “With this model, we gain a better insight into the various energy solutions and we can contribute to achieving the sustainability objectives,” says Olaf Broeders, Head of Airport Development at the airport.

“But more is needed, which is why cooperation with the environment is being sought to jointly generate more sustainable energy, store it and relieve the burden on the electricity network.” And all this with the innovative power of knowledge institutions and companies in Brainport Eindhoven.
