Montea is investing €20 million in battery parks in Belgium and the Netherlands in 2024 to support its clients in the energy transition. The EMS from Montea ensures that its locations stay within contracted capacity (GTV). Additionally, surplus capacity is offered to trading partners like Centrica and BEE, with 6.4 MW of battery capacity and 6.6 MW of solar energy (PV). By making flexibility available on energy markets like aFRR and FCR, Montea generates extra revenue and supports grid balancing.
Advanced AI for real-time decisions
The Tibo EMS uses advanced artificial intelligence to make real-time energy decisions. The algorithm, named ‘Alice’, dynamically optimizes energy by accounting for variables such as energy prices, weather conditions, and grid balance. This makes the EMS highly effective in both simple and complex installations, enabling companies to maximize energy capacity and reduce operational costs.
A key feature of the Tibo EMS is its ability to accurately forecast capacity availability, allowing the system to optimally offer this capacity on various trading markets, resulting in additional financial benefits for businesses. The system also integrates seamlessly with existing energy infrastructures and provides the flexibility to quickly respond to changing market conditions, making it ideal for companies like Montea seeking robust and versatile energy management solutions.
Smart control of supply and demand
Remco Eikhout, CEO of Tibo Energy, is proud of this partnership: “We are on the brink of a fundamental transformation in how businesses manage their energy. Technology is the key to a more sustainable future. Our partnership with Montea is a perfect example of how our EMS system not only optimizes energy consumption but also intelligently controls supply and demand. This allows businesses to unlock their full potential by actively participating in energy markets while tackling challenges like grid congestion.”
This collaboration highlights the power of our technology to add value to the energy sector in both the Netherlands and Belgium. Eikhout added: “We are committed to supporting companies like Montea in their growth and sustainability goals by offering innovative and future-proof solutions.”
