Eindhoven, 13 May 2026 Tibo Energy has achieved ISO 27001:2022 certification. The certification covers all of Tibo Energy’s operations, including the cloud-based EMS platform that processes and optimises energy data for industrial clients. The decision to have its information security independently validated follows increasing digitalisation and tighter European regulation in the energy sector. With this, Tibo provides formal proof that the control systems and energy data of its industrial clients are structurally protected.

Tibo Energy uses AI-driven software to manage decentralised energy networks, unlocking additional grid capacity for companies in industry, construction and transport. In doing so, the organisation processes large volumes of operational energy data, controls installations in real time and manages sensitive financial consumption data. That makes information security an integral part of day-to-day operations. As the digitalisation of the energy transition accelerates, the sector has become a more frequent target of cybercrime. For large industrial parties, demonstrable information security is increasingly a prerequisite for connecting systems to energy infrastructure at all. The ISO 27001 certification proves that Tibo manages these risks structurally.

What ISO 27001 means for clients

Over the past six months, Tibo has built a full Information Security Management System (ISMS) in line with the ISO 27001:2022 standard. The system covers risk assessments, security policies and incident management, validated through an external audit by Brand Compliance. For larger business partners and enterprise clients, this certification is increasingly a hard requirement when selecting suppliers. Information security in the energy sector is shifting from a differentiator to a baseline requirement for connecting systems and collaborating within energy infrastructures. Tibo’s compliance with the standard also puts it ahead of the strict frameworks of the forthcoming Cyber Resilience Act and the AI Act, both due to take effect in the summer of 2026.

Energy security under pressure

The growing dependence on technology within energy infrastructure makes information security a societal priority. “Energy security in the Netherlands is under pressure. On top of grid congestion, energy companies are increasingly targeted by cyberattacks,” says Remco Eikhout, CEO of Tibo Energy.

“We manage our clients’ energy systems and provide them with the certainty they need in uncertain times. Our clients entrust us with their energy data, and this certification proves we take that responsibility seriously. In an energy system that is becoming ever more digital and complex, the reliability of that data directly affects the security of energy supply itself.”

About Tibo Energy

Tibo Energy develops AI-driven software for industrial and commercial clients, helping them access more grid capacity, optimise energy use and accelerate the energy transition. Founded in 2022 by Remco Eikhout, Jeroen Althusius, Josh Mengerink, Linda Zandt-Sloot and Bram Cappers, the team now numbers 30 and operates from Eindhoven. Since launching its platform in late 2023, Tibo Energy manages the energy infrastructure of over a hundred sites for clients including Lidl, Intratuin and Vanderlande, delivering flexible energy use, lower CO₂ emissions and smarter infrastructure.
